OUR SCHOOL DAY

In a normal week, there are 25 hours of teaching contact time between students and staff.

Tutor Time - 8.45am
Lesson 1 - 9.00am
Lesson 2 - 9.50am
Break - 10.40am
Lesson 3 - 10.55 am
Lesson 4 - 11.45am
Lunch - 12.35am
Lesson 5 - 1.20pm
Lesson 6 - 2.10pm
School closes - 3pm

In addition to this, time is set aside for the Collective Act of Worship and Student Registration. The times of the school sessions are:

Morning begins at 8.45am and ends at 12.35pm

Afternoon begins at 1.20pm and ends at 3pm

Lunchtime

It is school policy that all pupils stay at school throughout the whole of the lunchtime period. Meals can be obtained from the cafeteria style canteen which offers a choice of meals and desserts every day. The choice always includes a vegetarian option and a Halal option for those pupils who may have dietary requirements. Sandwiches and salads are also available. The newly built canteen has dramatically improved the facilities available to cater for all student needs.

Pupils who wish to bring their own packed lunch are welcome to do so and can use the facilities of the canteen in which to eat their meal. A variety of clubs are available during the lunchtime period, these include; The Youth Club which has the following recreational activities - Table-tennis, pool, computer games, television, listening to music, board games.

Clubs

Music clubs which include choir, band sessions, individual instrument time and steel band sessions. PE clubs which include; football, netball, dance, basketball, hockey, athletics and yoga. There are also activities for those who wish to play quiet board games; a book club; and a culture club, which includes evening visits to theatres.

The library resource base is also available which includes not only the normal book choices, but also a suite of computers linked to the Internet.
