Keeping Students Safe at Shorefields

Illness of Students

We operate a system through the welfare room in Shorefields. This means that any student feeling unwell must be signed out of a lesson by their teacher in order to go to the welfare room and seek assistance. Students can only be given medication on the direct guidance of their legal guardian. It is essential that the school has the most up to date and current emergency contact details of all students. In an emergency, it is very distressing for young people if we are unable to contact parents and carers. Such a lack of communication could lead to inadequate treatment and undue discomfort for young people.
