Each term the school has a collection for a range of charities. Students are involved in the decision as to which is the most appropriate charity and in the collection process. All students should participate in these worthy causes.
We are pleased to be able to celebrate all religious festivals in our school. Non-Christian festivals do sometimes occur during school time. An allowance of two days absence for such occasions is permitted without effecting pupil attendance percentage.
We all know that we should be having our healthy '5 a day' pieces of fruit and veg, but being healthy means a lot more. This web site can help by looking at a wide range of issues from exercise to drug awareness. There are sections for all age groups- have a look. Being informed is half way to being healthy!
To aid effective learning, students will be allowed to take bottled water into lessons. These must contain clear water, be in a bottle with a sports cap and left on the students desk as they arrive for the lesson.
Students will be able to refill their bottles from a number of water dispensers around the school. This must only be done during break and lunch times as directed. All students, with exception of the Sixth Form, are obliged to stay on site at lunchtime to use any of the facilities below. Any food or drink brought to school must be carried in a bag.
