Shorefields Pupils are Fantastic!

I had to let you know that I think the pupils at Shorefields are fantastic!
When we first opened the Centre they were intrigued by who we were and what we did. We don't lock the Centre, over break or lunchtime - we have never had any cause to.

Your pupils come and ask if they can borrow a football and right on the bell they hand it back everyday.

Today, one of our pupils, who has had a lot of difficulty interacting with anyone, went out and played football with them. I called a pupil over and explained the issues and that it was a big step for him to join in. I asked the young man if he would just make sure our pupil had a touch on the ball every now and then. He said no problem and off he went and did exactly that.

The smile on our pupil's face was a vision.

I don't think schools are congratulated enough on pupil behaviour. Your pupils are kind, understanding and empathetic. I think being in Shorefields is like having lots of peer mentors urging our kids on and helping them.

Shorefields’ staff have created a wonderful ethos and that is reflected in the personalities and the behaviour of the pupils.

I just had to let you know your pupils are amazing.
