Yesterday saw the return of the ever popular It’s a Knockout competition. This year’s event was filled with the usual fun and excitement, as each form class battled to be crowned champions. This competition is a fantastic opportunity for our new year 7 students to develop their teamwork skills, as well as being a wonderfully enjoyable afternoon.
The unique Mr Lewis was on hand to revive some classic Knockout games, such as ‘blow the ping pong ball’ and the fiercely contested Tug of war. We saw some outstanding sporting performances from an array of talented students. The basketball talent of Delishia Jo Harding, Sian Frost and Sareay Ithnin was astounding and the football skills demonstrated by Kenny Davies had the crowd in awe. 7.B put up a strong fight in the Tug of War, with Mzee Mohamed and James Dunn showing unbelievable strength. 7.1 wowed the year group with their banners, chants and wonderful team spirit.
The afternoon was a roaring success and, as with any competition, there could only be one winner. It was an extremely close call but 7.3 were the deserving winners. Their skill, commitment and support for one another was an inspiration to the rest of the year group. A fantastic afternoon enjoyed by all!
