Robert Burns Year 8 won 1st prize with all of the runners up receiving awards. The group made the following statements when interviewed by Ms. Dove:
Q.Why did you choose to enter the competition?
A. We're tired of hearing about people being killed on the streets and we want the violence to stop.
Q. Why do you think the use of weapons has increased on the streets of Liverpool?
A. As more and more children have grown up in violent surroundings, they think it is 'cool' to have guns and knives.
Q. What do you think the Government should do about the use of guns?
A. Guns should be totally banned (except for the army and police). Young people who have guns should have to do lots of community service to put something back into the areas where they live.
