See Our Students' Success
Many of our students walk to school. Some use the school bus, the healthy ones cycle or walk. Merseyside Police decided that the best way to arrive on Thursday 16th November was by helicopter! Landing on the playing field to the great excitement of students the morning was certainly a different one. Fortunately Mr Cunningham did not have Year9 students playing football on the pitch at the time so all went well. Chief Constable Mr Bernard Hogan and a number of VIPs were there to present students from across the City with prizes for a painting competition to help combat vehicle crime.
Anthony Thomson from 7.3 won third prize and was presented with an I-pod. Well done! "I was pleased with my painting but did not expect to win anything- the I-pod is fantastic" said Anthony.
Staff from other schools, representatives of the Police and other visitors congratulated the Shorefields students for their 'Exemplary behaviour and courtesy'. This sort of praise is always welcome but not really surprising as we are fully aware of just how good our students can be.
The competition winner will see their design for a anti theft chip system to be introduced into Satellite navigation systems be reproduced by Halfords as a national sticker campaign.
