Each term the school has a collection for a range of charities. Students are involved in the decision as to which is the most appropriate charity and in the collection process. All students should participate in these worthy causes.
We are pleased to be able to celebrate all religious festivals in our school. Non-Christian festivals do sometimes occur during school time. An allowance of two days absence for such occasions is permitted without effecting pupil attendance percentage.
At the heart of the school is the City Learning Centre, an exciting development that provides students with an array of modern information and communications technology to help raise levels of achievement. There are over 200 networked computers with a range of software and other equipment to support students in their studies. Here students come with their teachers or by themselves to use the facilities to improve their English and Mathematical skills, carry out design and manufacturing projects, desktop publish, compose music, practise their foreign language skills and word process their work, to name but a few activities. The centre is also open after school hours during the holidays to students, their parents and relatives and to the general community. This is a super resource for the whole community.
N.B: Currently, wheelchair access is not possible to all the computer suites but the majority of software is available in those that are accessible.
